What makes Uplands Park so unique is that it is over 30 hectares of undeveloped, natural, protected parkland. It provides a look into the Garry Oak meadows and natural ecosystem that have resided in this area for hundreds of years.
The park has one of the greatest concentrations of rare plant species in all of Canada. Folks will find well-used, informal trails, and a manicured area with an Oak Bay War Memorial honouring the 97 Oak Bay men and women who died during World War Two – This is why the organization Friends of Uplands Park are so dedicated to preserving Uplands Park.
