Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, and Culture is excited to announce another season of free outdoor concerts in Willows Beach Park this summer! Bring a blanket and picnic, and enjoy live music in a beautiful setting. Expect a variety of musical styles by local performers. Willows Beach Park is located at Dalhousie Street at Beach Drive.
Thursday, August 9, 2018, 6:00pm to 8:15pm– Brandy Moore & the Nightcaps and Arts & Culture Fortnight kick-off
Join us for the kick-off event to Oak Bay Arts & Culture Fortnight (August 9 to 23), featuring a Children’s face painting area, speeches by the Mayor and Arts Laureate, and cake!
Children’s activities start at 6pm, Concert at 6:30pm
Brandy Moore fronts the high-energy classic R&B/funk/soul/Motown band Brandy Moore & the Nightcaps based in Victoria, BC. She’s also available as an intimate solo performer (vocals/guitar) for house concerts, festivals, weddings and other private functions.
With over 25 years of performing experience as a singer/songwriter and song interpreter, Brandy has appeared live in western Canada, the southwestern United States, New York City, Mexico, Central America and Portugal, where she recently performed her original song “Just Because I’m Alive” at the 2017 World Basic Income Congress in Lisbon.
