A vibrant community only 10 minutes from downtown Victoria on Vancouver Island, Oak Bay is a world away from the rush of everyday life. An unhurried day may be spent browsing one-of-a-kind shops and galleries, strolling through the many green spaces or soaking up the ambience in cafes and bistros.

A year-round gardening mecca, the local enthusiasm for plants of all kinds is evident as every available space is green and public and private gardens are four-season showcases. Oak Bay’s Palm Tree Count is annual testament to the mild climate and gardening potential in the area.

Many natural and full facility parks offer beach access with stairs and pathways that lead to pockets of quiet coastline. Oak Bay’s beaches include sandy stretches and rocky, walkable bays and coves carved by glacial activity and pounding waves. If the tide is right, aquatic life can be seen swimming in tide pools.
