Oak Bay at Night

While Oak Bay prides itself on being a place where visitors can get away from it all (without leaving it all behind) not all is quiet at the end of the day. There are several pockets of entertainment where the locals enjoy an after work pint or coffee as well ailing with lively musical offerings.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings the Penny Farthing Pub hosts an acoustic Celtic jam session. Spots on the outdoor patio fill quickly in the summer while space by the fireplace is coveted in the winter and early arrivals vie for the best spots.

Musical evenings at the Blethering Place feature a variety of musical selections. Fridays are Celtic-themed music; on Saturdays the Wig & Thistle show will keep you laughing and singing and Sundays will take you back to the New Orleans jazz scene of the 1920’s and 30’s. Special musical nights are posted on the Blethering Place website.

Other events include olive oil or wine tastings, outdoor movie nights in the summer and gallery walks in the winter. Check our events page for special events taking place during your visit.
