Oak Bay is a feast for the artistic senses. Seven galleries are located within four blocks of each other on Oak Bay Avenue, virtually guaranteeing you will find something to suit your personal style. In addition to artists from Canada and around the world, Oak Bay galleries feature a large selection of British Columbia artists. Many of these artists are well-known on the international scene while others are talented local favorites.

Because of their close proximity, Oak Bay galleries are ideally situated for a self-guided gallery tour. Following the galleries as they are listed below will take the participant in a circle and the entire distance can be walked in as little as five minutes –without any browsing.

Visitors to Oak Bay during the Christmas season are treated to the annual Art on the Avenue Gallery Walk and Tasting Evening. Galleries open one evening for shopping while offering seasonal treats and music. Ottavio Italian Bakery also opens for the evening, inviting one and all to sample a range of seasonal treats including roasted chestnuts, Italian candies and special Christmas gelato.

Many galleries also display ‘wearable art’. Creole Jewellery creates original, hand-crafted pieces for one-of-a-kind art you can wear. Barclay's Jewellers also offers one of a kind jewellery as well as a selection of antique pieces. Many Oak Bay stores also feature original art cards, clothing and home décor items.
